چکیده
In a previous study, several histological alterations were found in the liver of gilthead seabream Ž . fed with a diet containing 30% soybean meal SBM . In the current study, SBM containing diets Ž . were supplemented with either potassium phosphate, zinc sulfate or phytase Aspergillus ficuum , or increasing the dietary ny3rny6 fatty acids ratio to meet that of a fish meal based diet. Diet Ž . Ž . composition did not affect fish growth, feed efficiency FE or protein productive value PER . Ž . Phosphorous supplementation significantly reduced hepatosomatic indexes HSI , although it did not alter liver lipid content. Both phosphorous supplementation and correcting the dietary ny3rny6 fatty acid ratio significantly altered the lipid and protein content in fish muscle. Only these two treatments and principally the corrected dietary ny3rny6 fatty acid ratio, improved ) Corresponding author. 0044-8486r98r$19.00 q 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. Ž . Arachidonic acid reduces the stress response of gilthead seabream Sparus aurata L.
In this study the influence of the dietary level of the fatty acid arachidonic acid (ArA, 20:4n-6) was determined on the acute stress response and osmoregulation of adult gilthead seabream Sparus aurata L. Seabream were fed a diet containing either 0.9% or 2.4% of total fatty acids as ArA for 18 days before being subjected to a 5 min period of net confinement. Prior to this stressor, a subgroup...
متن کاملThe kinetics of nutrient incorporation into body tissues of gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) females and the subsequent effects on egg composition and egg quality.
The interaction between essential dietary components and changes in tissue nutrient reserves, egg quality and egg composition, were studied from 60 d before and during the spawning of Sparus aurata broodstock. Fish were given isonitrogenous (550 g/kg dry weight) and isolipidic (100 g/kg dry weight) diets, based on protein and lipid extracts of squid meal. Diets differed in the levels of n-6 (10...

This study compared for seabream, Sparus aurata exposed to benzo(a)pyrene-B(a)P-, the response of molecular cytochrome P450 1A (CYP1A) and cellular histopathology biomarkers. Male gilthead seabream, Sparus aurata specimens were exposed for 20 days via water to a series of high B(a)P concentrations. CYP1A was assessed by measuring enzymatic activity (EROD) and CYP1A protein content, and cellular...

This study was performed to determine the optimum level of soybean meal diets for two banded sea bream for growth performance, nutrient utilization, body composition and serum biochemistry. Two banded seabream were fed five experimental diets which were formulated replace fish meal by soybean meal at 0, 20, 30, 40 and 50%. Up to 40% of dietary fish meal was successfully replaced with no growth...
